Psychosocial support – Wayanad Rehabilitation Programme
The 2024 Wayanad landslides were a series of devastating landslides that occurred in the early hours of 30 July 2024 in the villages of Punjirimattom, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, and Vellarimala, located in Meppadi Panchayat, Vythiri Taluk, Wayanad district, Kerala, India. The disaster ranks among the deadliest natural calamities in Kerala’s history.
More than 420 people lost their lives, and 397 individuals were injured as a result of the landslides, making it the deadliest landslide event recorded in the state. Seventeen entire families perished in the tragedy. The majority of the victims were tea and cardamom plantation workers who were asleep when the landslides struck. Over 118 people remain unaccounted for, underscoring the scale of human loss and devastation caused by the disaster.
During this period, I Mind The Mind (IMTM) volunteers provided sustained psychosocial support to the survivors. A team of 60 IMTM volunteers worked continuously over an eight-month period, visiting more than 800 households of affected families. These visits were carried out using the contact details of survivors provided by the Wayanad District Medical Officer and the District Mental Health Programme Nodal Officer, Dr. Aparna Nair.

Initiate was to spread awareness for a plastic free, clean tomorrow. NSS volunteers of Thriuvallam Christ Nagar College along with IMTM volunteers participated enthusiastically in the rally led by Dr. Nelson Kattikat. The presence of Junior Health Inspector Srikanth, Harbor Counselor Afsa Sajina , Asha Worker Thankamani added more strength to the program.
Oneday Awareness workshop – Moozhiyar
The oneday Awareness workshop conducted by I Mind The Mind ( IMTM ) with the Support of Janamythree Police at Moozhiyar Police Station on 11 Aug 2025 for tribals in Moozhiyar, Kerala.
“Moozhiyar” is a place in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, known for the Moozhiyar Dam and surrounding rural/tribal areas. It’s a village in Seethathodu Panchayat.The tribal communities are Malappandaram,Malavedans,
Malakkuravan,Mala Arayan,Ulladan,Urali.Many tribal communities are forest‑dependent — traditionally living through hunting, gathering forest products, and shifting cultivation.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with Moozhiyar Police Station. 10 IMTM team members started their journey from Trivandrum, in the early hours of the day . Finally our team reached the destination as planned and the oneday workshop began with almost 70- 75 participants from various corners of the forest.
